Business online banking is a web-based service that provides First National Bank of Northern California customers a secure and convenient way to access their account information via the internet 24/7.

How much does business online banking cost?

Business online banking is $10.00 per month. When you have a designated First National Bank of Northern California business account, business online banking is free of charge.

What can I do with business online banking?

    With business online banking you can:
  • View account and loan balance information
  • See your current cash position
  • Transfer funds between First National Bank of Northern California accounts
  • Make loan payments or loan advances
  • View and print your current and previous month account statements
  • Retrieve image statements
  • View cancelled check images
  • Search transaction history by check number, amount or date
  • Issue stop payments
  • Set security rules for authorized users
  • Export transactions to Quicken, QuickBooks, Microsoft Money, or Microsoft Excel
  • Send domestic wires
  • Initiate ACH transactions

What kind of hardware do I need for business online banking?

Minimum hardware requirements:
PC or MAC computer, 486 with a 66 megahertz (MHz) processor (Pentium processor recommended); 32 MB of RAM minimum and internet access (high speed recommended)

What kind of software do I need for business online banking?

    The following software is required:
  • Windows 98 or higher
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) for Windows version 6.0 SP2 or higher with 128-bit encryption
  • Mac OS X 10.2.x or higher
  • Mozilla Firefox version 2.0 or higher with 128-bit encryption

Can I access business online banking using AOL?

AOL is not a supported browser.

Can I use business online banking with Web TV?

Business online banking is not compatible with Web TV.

If I use a MAC can I access business online banking?

Yes, you can access business online banking with Mozilla Firefox browser version 2.0 or higher.

Can I use Quicken, QuickBooks or Microsoft Money with business online banking?

    Yes, the following formats are available to export from First National Bank of Northern California's business online banking:
  • .CSV - Comma Separated - Microsoft Excel™
  • .QIF - Quicken™version 2004 or older
  • .IIF - Quickbooks™version 2004 or older
  • .QFX - Quicken™version 2005 or newer - Web Connect
  • .QBO - Quickbooks™version 2005 or newer - Web Connect

Can I use business online banking outside the United States?

    Yes, business online banking is available with the following browsers:
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) for Windows version 6.0 SP2 or higher with 128-bit encryption
  • Mozilla Firefox version 2.0 or higher with 128-bit encryption

How do I enroll in business online banking?

To enroll, complete and submit a business online banking application. The application is available under the Online Banking section.

Can I begin using business online banking immediately?

After your enrollment is processed, you will receive an Access ID and Password from First National Bank of Northern California's Electronic Banking Department.

How do I login to business online banking?

On the homepage, click on the drop down under View Your Account and select Business Banking, enter your Access ID below.

What if I forgot or need to change my Business Online Banking Access ID?

What is the length of time a checking account statement is available through business online banking?

Checking account statements are available for 13 months.

Can I print account statements?

Statements are available to print under the "Documents" tab in the business online banking system

What is a pending transaction?

Pending transactions refers to deposits, withdrawals and/or transfers that will be processed on the current business date.

What accounts can I transfer between?

Transfers are available between Checking, Savings and Loan Accounts.

When I make a transfer, when will my funds become available?

Transfers between accounts submitted on a business banking day prior to 4:30 pm PST will be credited to your account the same day. Transfers submitted after 4:30 pm PST or on a non business banking day will be credited on the next business day.

Can I set up future dated transfers?

Yes, you can schedule future-dated transfers between your accounts.

Can I set up recurring transfers?

Recurring transfers are not available through business online banking at this time.

Can I transfer funds from First National Bank of Northern California to my account at another institution?

Yes, funds can be transferred to an account at another institution via bill payment.

Can I take advances from my line of credit?

Yes, you can take advances from your line of credit using business online banking.

Can I make payments to my loans or line of credit?

Yes, you can make payments using business online banking. There are different payment options; regular, principal only and interest only.

Can I place a stop payment on a check?

Yes, stop payments can be placed on a check using business online banking.

Can I reorder checks?

Business checks must be ordered at a First National Bank of Northern California branch.

Can I change my address through business online banking?

To request a change of address, contact your local branch. Branch contact numbers are listed under the Locations, Hours and ATM tab on the homepage.

What if I have an account I don't want to view online?

Please contact First National Bank of Northern California's Electronic Banking Department at 650-488-2512 during normal business hours; Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

How do I add an account to my business online banking access?

Employees can access business online banking if the Adminstrator grants them access.

Business Bill Payment

What is business bill payment?

Business bill payment is a service of online banking that allows you to schedule your bills for payment.

How much does business bill payment cost?

Business bill payment is $9.95 per month and $0.25 for each item over 10. Business bill payment is free when you have a designated First National Bank of Northern California business account.

Who can I pay with business bill payment?

Business bill payment enables you to pay anyone in the United States from mutiple accounts, transfer funds to another financial institution plus you can pay your employees. However, bill payments cannot be made for taxes, government agencies, collection agencies, security companies such as Ameritrade for stock purchases or any court directed payments.

Is there a limit to the number of bills that I can pay?

There is no limit to the number of bills that can be paid.

How do I enroll for business bill payment?

To enroll, complete the business bill payment application. It is located on the homepage under the Business Banking heading.

When can I begin using business bill payment?

Business bill payment users can begin using the system in 24 to 48 hours after a security verification.

What type of accounts can I use to pay bills?

Only a checking account can be used to pay bills.

When are the funds withdrawn from my checking account for a business bill payment?

The funds are withdrawn from the account on the process date of the payment.

How close to the due date should I schedule a bill payment?

It is recommend that payments are scheduled at least 5 to 7 business days prior to the due date.

How are payments that are scheuled delivered to payees?

We offer two methods of payment delivery. The majority of our payments are made electronically, through a secure electronic transmission, while other payments are made by paper checks that are mailed to the payee.

How do I set up payees?

Once you are enrolled in business bill payment, payees can be added under the Payees tab; Add New Payees.

How can I view a list of my payees?

You may view your payees by selecting View Payees under the Payees tab.

How do I change payees?

Payees can be changed by clicking the View Payees button under the Payees Tab. Once all payees are listed, click on edit.

How do I delete a payee?

Payees can be deleted by clicking the View Payees button under the Payees Tab. Once all payees are listed, click on delete.

Can I set up reccuring payments?

Yes, you can schedule reccuring payments that you make regularly for the same amount.

Can I make same day payments?

Same day payments cannot be made at this time.

How can I view scheduled payments?

You can view scheduled payments by selecting Scheduled Transactions under the Payments tab.

How do I change or cancel a scheduled payment?

If the scheduled payment has not been processed, the latest time for changes or cancellation of a payment is 11:30 am PST Monday through Friday. You may change or cancel it by selecting Scheduled Transaction under the Payments Tab.

How do I unlock my business bill payment account?

Business bill payment accounts can be unlocked by contacting Bill Payment support at 1-877-308-0245 or the Electronic Banking Department at 650-488-2512 during normal business hours; Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

How do I cancel my business bill payment service?

Business bill payment can be cancelled by contacting the Electronic Banking Department at 650-488-2512 during normal business hours; Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or your local branch.

Security

What type of security do you use for business online banking?

First National Bank of Northern California strives to provide the highest level of security against identify theft and online fraud. Online banking requires 128-bit SSL encryption and Multifactor Authentication.

Will First National Bank of Northern California ever ask for my business information via email?

First National Bank of Northern California will NEVER attempt to obtain your business information, such as social security number, account number, Access ID or Password through an email communication. Should you receive an e-mail requesting verification of this information DO NOT respond and contact First National Bank immediately.

What should I do if my Access ID and/or Password have been compromised?

If you suspect your Access ID and/or Password have been comprised, contact First National Bank of Northern California immediately.

Should I log on to the online banking system if the Authentication Image and Authentication Pass Phrase are not displayed?

If the Authentication Image and Authentication Pass Phrase are not displayed, do not enter your password and contact First National Bank of Northern California immediately.

What is Multifactor Authentication?

Multifactor Authentication is an addition layer of security that uses several different forms of verification before allowing access to your account information online. Multifactor Authentication helps prevent unauthorized access to your accounts while reassuring you that you are on First National Bank of Northern California's website by using an Authentication Image, Authentication Pass Phrase, and three security questions. These additional features would not appear on a phished site.

What are challenge questions and why do I need to establish them?

Challenge questions are questions that only the user would know the answer to. They prevent unauthorized people from getting access to your online banking information. Therefore, even if your Access ID and Password are compromised, a challenge question must be answered prior to the account information being displayed.

What is Phishing?

Phishing is a type of online identify theft which uses e-mail and fraudulent websites that are designed to steal your business data or information such as your Access ID, password or credit card number.

What is Pharming?

Pharming is a scam practice in which unauthorized software is installed on a computer or server, misdirecting users to fraudulent web sites without their knowledge.

What is Spoofing?

Spoofing is a type of identity theft whereas emails that look like they are from a legitimate source are sent with a link to a phony website. The customers are asked to enter business information.

What is a Trojan horse virus?

A trojan horse virus is designed to allow a hacker remote access to your computer.

How can I protect my computer from viruses?

To protect your computer, ensure you have an anti-virus software installed. The anit-viurs software and operating system must have the most recent updates.

Is it safe to use a public computer to access business online banking?

Public computers may have keystroke logger or keystroke recorder software installed which can compromise your Access ID and password. Since the security of a public computer cannot be verified, it is recommended you not use one to access online banking.

Does my password expire in business online banking?

Yes, passwords expire every 90 days.

Can I change my online banking password?

Yes, you can change your password. Select Option once you have logged on to your online banking account.

Can I change my Authentication Image and Authentication Pass Phrase?

Yes, you can change the Authentication Image and Authentication Pass Phrase. Under the options button select change security data once you have logged on to your online banking account.
